I was awakened by soft rain fall and the lullaby of birds soaring from above, the lakes residents was singing songs of praise a sound I have heard so many times in the past but a sound that never tires in my mind, the light was just breaking and as I peered from the bivvy the sounds of the birds and wildlife sounded like they had just woken from a deep sleep, there soft songs of voice made me realise that I was fishing...........

Carp rewards for those who have overstamps by Neil Jupp

ACTION on Lymm Angling Club waters is improving week by week as overnight frosts appear to be waning, or at least less severe. This obviously allows water temperatures to become more stabilised, a situation that fish prefer and tends to spur them to feed more enthusiastically.

What a Fish !!

Went for my first night out last night 23rd Feb, arrived about 10am after calling off and seeing Lee Mc at another venue.

The rods where out by 11am on a new Bang On Baits test bait, it was a quite day except for the lads Jim and Lee popping down for a brew and Lee moaning cause I never had any chocolate biscuits

A Day to Remember

On the 6th May, 2000, I set off for Lymmvale with my then 10 year old daughter, Jennifer - she was a member of Lymm A.C. for several years until she developed 'other interests'. Sadly, my usual fishing 'buddy' Pete 'Sid' Sawer wasn't able to join us that day.
It is always my intention to reach my intended venue half an hour to an hour before sunrise. I have always liked to experience the dawn in all its glory when I fish early. I wanted Jennifer to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the waterside at this very special time of day.

Over the last ten years Northwestern Rods have faded from the radar. Now for 2008 they are back and better than ever. Watch this space.....www.csgcustombuiltrods.co.uk

The company has been working behind the scenes to redevelop the brand and is about to relaunch onto the uk market again. New ranges are out from March onwards, but also look out for revamped versions of the like the old ss4 ss5 and the long range ss6, but now in carbon.

Lymm Angling Club is one of the first to get this new information for 2008.

WEATHER conditions over Sunday and the early part of this week dampened the enthusiasm of all but the most determined of Lymm Angling Club members.

The conditions generated situations where you could easily have had the likes of Lymmvale to yourself.

Belmont Pool has continued to provide decent carp action despite the poor conditions.

A memorable moment by Mancman

It was a Wednesday evening in late September when I set off on a fishing trip to Whitley pool. I arrived at the water around 6pm and had a good look around before settling on a swim at the opposite end to the car park.
Fish were crashing and jumping everywhere as I unpacked my gear and tackled up and I was full of optimism and excitement at the prospect of catching a few.

The stuff Dreams are made off!!! By Brett Mcphee

Well Saturday had come round quick again and after the week I had at work some serious relaxation was needed.

After the last few weekends blanking I really didn’t want to do the night as I seem to sit behind my rods with the old they will come on later attitude.

I headed over to Founders for early morning and got there just before the sun had woke up from its slumber.

Nobody was on so I set up in the far corner on the right of the car park and soon had 2 rods despatched either side of the overhanging bush.

Whitley Pool to Re-Open

The good news continues and i have been on the phone today to the EA, they have said that the levels are stable now and they would advise to open up for fishing.

So tomorrow the signs will come down and as from Saturday morning its back to business for Whitley.

This is great news for the club, and i look forward to reading the catch returns soon.
