Lymmvale Back on track

We are pleased to announce that after consultation with the EA and the water keeper, Lymmvale is to remain OPEN to members until further notice.

A key consideration in making this decision was that the parasite (Gill Maggot) cannot be transferred on nets and tackle to other waters. The number of fish deaths has also fallen significantly in recent days.

The EA is to remove some fish for analysis and the situation will be reviewed once the results have been returned. In the meantime, would all anglers fishing at Lymmvale please check all fish they catch for signs of the parasite and record any problems found on their catch returns or directly to the water keeper. The effects of the parasite are usually a reddening/inflamation of the gills and can be seen by gently pulling back the gill cover.

Thanks to all in advance for your cooperation.
